Privacy Policy

Comprehensive Financial Planning for Doctors, LLC has adopted this Privacy Policy to describe what personal information we collect from clients, how we safeguard it, and under what circumstances we may disclose it.

Information We Collect

We collect certain non-public information from clients to verify their identity, fully understand their financial circumstances, and base our recommendations on accurate and up-to-date information.  This information includes but is not limited to the following: full legal name, date of birth, mailing address, tax returns, account statements, credit reports, income, expenses, assets, liabilities, insurance coverages, risk tolerance, financial goals, employee benefits, and estate planning and other legal documents.

How We Safeguard Your Information

We protect client information by maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards which comply with applicable federal and state standards.  Our preferred policy for exchanging non-public information with clients is the following:

  1. Each party establishes a Google Drive account (https://www.google.com/drive/), which is available at no cost, and has the option for two-factor authentication

  2. We will create a Google Drive folder and share it for the purpose of exchanging confidential information electronically

  3. Both parties will agree upon a strong encryption password of at least 20 characters with which to create encrypted file containers

  4. Both parties will download VeraCrypt software (https://veracrypt.io/en/Home.html), which is available at no cost, to enable the creation of encrypted file containers

  5. The sending party mounts (opens) the encrypted file container and places the confidential electronic file(s) inside, then dismounts (closes) it

  6. The sending party uploads the encrypted file container into the shared Google Drive folder and then sends a brief email to the receiving party indicating new information is available for download

  7. The receiving party accesses the shared Google Drive folder, downloads the encrypted file container, then uses VeraCrypt software and the encryption password to mount (open) the encrypted file container

  8. The receiving party removes the encrypted file container from the shared Google Drive folder after downloading it

In the event clients do not wish to exchange non-public information via VeraCrypt encrypted file containers through a shared Google Drive folder, our policy is to exchange written documents using either:

We have a secure private wi-fi network, our devices are password protected and encrypted, and we have a locked mailbox.
